Arista Power, Inc., a developer, manufacturer, and supplier of custom-designed power management systems, renewable energy storage systems, WindTamer wind turbines, and a supplier and designer of solar energy systems, announced a further expansion of its product range with the introduction of the Arista Power Charger 300 line of man-portable, three-bladed micro wind turbines designed to provide battery charging capability at remote and off-grid locations for military and other applications.

The Charger 300 is compact yet provides maximum power output with highly efficient blades, controller, and a permanent magnet generator. Designed to operate in winds from 3 to 20 meters/second, the turbine is efficient and maintenance free, with only two moving parts, and has a wide range of applications.

The Charger 300i contains an integrated controller that allows for use in more rugged environments and can be transported by an individual soldier to support remote power requirements. Weighing less than 15 pounds, the turbine can be carried in a small suitcase-sized hard or soft-pack carrying case. Typical applications for the Charger 300i would utilize a mast height of 20-30 feet allowing shorter wire lengths between the wind turbine charger and batteries.

The Charger 300e has an external control unit that allows for more flexible applications and can be utilized in higher, more permanent type locations. Typical applications for the Charger 300e would utilize a more permanent tower structure greater than 30 feet in height, requiring longer wire lengths between the wind turbine charger and batteries. The Charger 300e is also designed to provide flexibility for use in customized hybrid wind/solar systems designed by Arista Power for specific applications.

William A. Schmitz, Chief Executive Officer of Arista Power, Inc., said that, “The introduction of the Charger 300 micro turbine further broadens our ability to provide innovative renewable energy-based products and solutions to the military and commercial sectors.”

Arista Power, Inc. is a developer, manufacturer, and supplier of custom-designed power management systems, renewable energy storage systems, WindTamer wind turbines, and a supplier and designer of solar energy systems. Arista Power’s patent-pending Power on Demand system utilizes inputs from multiple energy sources including wind, solar, fuel cells, and the grid, in conjunction with a custom-designed battery storage system and a proprietary smart monitoring technology that releases energy at optimal times to reduce peak power demand, thereby lowering electricity costs for large energy users who deal with peak usage pricing.

Arista Power also sells a Mobile Renewable Power Station that generates wind energy and solar energy that is stored in an onboard storage device for military and other applications, and a stationary, scalable Renewable Power Station that can be drop-shipped to off-grid locations to be used as a ‘micro-grid.’ Arista Power’s diffuser-augmented WindTamer wind turbine utilizes a patented technology for the production of electrical power.
