A gearbox that pays dividends
Compliance with ultra-strict maximum sound levels to avoid disturbance to local residents is a key criterion when choosing a wind turbine. The sound emission values are mainly determined by the speed of the rotor blade tips. This unique guarantee assures that the specified sound values are adhered to in all measurements. The sound power levels warranted by REpower already include all measurement uncertainties, in other words there is no need to allow any additional safety margins.
With REpower’s help, wind farm operators can actively reduce the maximum sound power level further still if necessary. Optional sound management packages are offered for this purpose in the form of intelligent control software that aligns the turbines even more closely to local site requirements.
