Waardenburg Ecology and Ecowende are developing a comprehensive ecological programme for Ecowende’s offshore wind farm Hollandse Kust (west) Wind Farm Site VI with partners including WMR, WaterProof Marine Consultancy & Services B.V. and SEAMARCO. The collaboration will ensure ecology is given a prominent place in the preparation, construction and operation of the first wind farm in the world that will be in harmony with nature.
Eneco is investing in a major battery energy storage project in Wallonia. With the installation of a 50 MW/200 MWh of battery energy storage, sustainably generated electricity can be used more efficiently to balance Belgium's electricity grid. The permit has been obtained, the battery ordered and preparatory study works are underway to have the project operational by the end of 2024. The battery power plant in Ville-sur-Haine in Wallonia will be fully owned.

Europe's largest battery, EnspireME, is now ready to supply reserve capacity to the European electricity grid. The battery is located in Jardelund in the north of Germany and was constructed in a period of approximately 8 months. Today, the battery was put into operation officially by the joint owners Eneco and Mitsubishi Corporation.
