After Years of Struggle: Industrial Park instead of Wind Farm
Detail_cape_wind_20180411Have Martha's Vineyard residents ever imagined it? For years, they used all legal means to fight a planned offshore wind farm off their island until the developer gave up. Now, instead, a large industrial park for the offshore wind industry will be built in their port.

About 15,000 inhabitants live on the island of Martha's Vineyard/Ma. And if things had been like project developer Cape Wind had planned it, today the first US offshore wind farm would supply clean energy off the island. But things turned out differently. Tender for Borssele V Wind Farm Awarded to Consortium
Detail_vanoord_20160218_sIn the Netherlands, the result of another offshore tender was announced last week. The winner of Borssele V is the Two Towers Consortium, consisting of Van Oord, Investri Offshore and Green Giraffe.

Borssele V has been identified as a location where technical innovations can be tested. The area is about 20 kilometres off the coast of Zeeland in the Dutch North Sea. Two 9.5 MW MHI Vestas turbines are to be installed there to supply 25,000 households with clean energy from 2021.
